GREENLAND NURSERY AND BARTRAM'S GARDEN
microMEETING #9

Tune in to learn about two historic Philadelphia growing spaces that play an important role in the city's park system and beyond. Dan Feeser will share a brief overview of Bartram's Garden's history and how the site is a crucial part of Philadelphia's urban fabric. Maximilian Blaustein of Greenland Nursery will share how the historic property now produces native plants for the city's natural lands management group.
INVEST IN NURSERIES TO FIGHT CLIMATE CHANGE

A recent research report stated that US nurseries must double their annual tree production in order to replenish US forests and fight climate change. This appears to offer huge growth opportunities for nurseries and those who collect and store seeds.

Of course, the nursery industry knows this growth cannot happen without major investments in growing facilities, labor force, and capital. The World Economic Forum published "Want to plant billions of trees? Invest in nurseries first" that discusses these challenges.
