Specifically designed, staffed, and equipped for end-of-life care in a more intimate and specialized home-like setting, the state-of-the-art Kanas Center for Hospice Care features eight private patient suites. It offers round-the-clock skilled clinical staffing and access to physicians, hospice aides, social workers, bereavement counselors, chaplains, and other specialists. Trained volunteers assist with care and companionship. An assortment of wellness services is available, including massage, reiki, art and pet therapy, and healing touch.

Creating this sacred space took time and effort. The facility is named in honor of lead benefactors John and Elaine Kanas. Many generous donors, businesses, and foundations contributed a majority of the funds needed to build and open this extraordinary facility. Philanthropy continues to play an essential role in funding the building's operations and improvements. Naming opportunities are available. Donations at every level help sustain the Center, which is the only facility of its kind on Eastern Long Island. For information, please contact Emily Madsen at emadsen@eeh.org or 631-288-7080.
