VegMichigan's Big Initiative is Having an Impact
We launched our plant-based food giveaway only a few months ago and we have already given out more than 200 sample bags to individuals who are new to plant-based eating. This is truly a unique program and it is having a measurably positive impact at getting individuals to move toward a plant-based diet. Based on feedback, most individuals were pleasantly surprised with these items and will now add more plant-based foods to their regular routine. Just as we were once new to plant-based eating, many individuals are confused and don't know where to begin, so we start them off with delicious items that will create a positive first impression. We also ask participants to watch a short video, and this combination is proving to be very successful at changing behavior.

We are so grateful to Beyond Meat for donating the burgers, but VegMichigan is paying for many of the items and each box costs us more than $10. Please consider making a donation, joining VegMichigan, or purchasing some of the products we use on a regular basis and donating them to VegMichigan! To donate items, contact [email protected]
Bags include Beyond Burgers, Just Egg, almond milk, a free vegan pizza voucher, and more!
VegMichigan volunteer prepares to give out 60 sample bags at Humane Society of Huron Valley.

Talking Women’s Health for Women’s History Month
With the start of March brings Women’s History Month! In acknowledgement of the many exceptional women who have changed the course of history for the better through their intellect, innovation, bravery, and compassion, this is a good month to discuss some information about optimizing women’s health. In this month’s article, I will discuss several of the most common conditions affecting women today, the recommended guidelines for screening for these conditions, and my own recommendations about how we can help prevent these conditions.

A Vegan’s Guide to Ann Arbor, Dearborn, and Detroit
The Latest Michigan Vegan Travel Blog by Rebecca from Veggies Abroad
Metro Detroit is full of an overwhelming diversity of food, especially vegan food. That hasn’t always been the case. There was a time when finding a pint of vegan ice cream was like trying to find the elusive Waldo hidden amongst a sea of red and white stripes. I know, that’s hard to imagine, but what’s even better now, is going out to dinner no longer means eating ahead of time or mindlessly chewing more iceberg lettuce. In metro Detroit, there are three cities that really stand out for their culinary endeavors – Ann Arbor, Dearborn, and Detroit. This guide will explore great vegan food in each city as well as a few things to do in between meals.
