MEETING
Thursday, March 26
4:45-7PM
BLUE ROOM
FAIRBANKS ARTS ASSOCIATION

Mini Workshop:
Blizzard Books

The March meeting program will feature Fairbanks artist Sue Cole, presenting the Blizzard Book structure.  The Blizzard Book and its cousin, the Crown Book are origami type structures invented by Hedi Kyle, well known book artist.  They may be made in multiple sizes. At the meeting we will make a Blizzard Book for holding business cards. We'll also see models of how this structure can be adapted to different sizes and cover treatments. Materials will be provided.

Please bring to the meeting: cutting mat, bone folder, X-Acto knife, ruler, scissors. Some guild tools will be available for use.

Guild members attend the workshop free;
guests pay a materials fee of $5
Everyone is welcome!

 March Book Exchange:
Books Made from a Single Piece of Paper

Join in our book exchange! This month's theme is a book made out of a single piece of paper. Use paper and a structure  of your choice. Your book will be exchanged for the book of another Guild member!

Note that this activity is optional! Participate in the exchange if you would like, or just join in the surprises, if you prefer. The book exchange will take place after the business meeting and workshop.

Northwoods' book exchange is inspired by the North Redwoods Book Arts Guild in California. Read about their book exchange and, if you'd like inspiration, visit their amazing archive of themed exchanges here.
