Are You Ready for Spring Break?

A Parent's Guide to Spring Break Safety for Middle and High Schoolers

Spring break is almost here. No alarm clocks, no homework, and a chance to slow down and reconnect. For your teen, it's a week of freedom, but for many parents and caregivers, it's a week of trying to figure out how to balance work and other responsibilities with keeping kids entertained and out of trouble.

Coalition Highlights

This month, the Boone County Alliance continued its work around vaping, cannabis prevention, and mental health, with a strong focus on youth support through the You Are Loved campaign. The coalition tabled at Ryle, Conner, and Cooper High Schools to share positive messages and promote the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, reaching more than 220 students.

Staff also connected with families and community members at events like New Haven Elementary’s Tech Talk and Ockerman Elementary’s Dino-Mite Family Night. Prevention resources were shared throughout the community, including Dinner Table Project newsletters, parent handbooks, and mental health placemats distributed through partners like Fiesta, Florence Christian Church, and the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

The team attended several coalition meetings, trainings, and the CADCA National Leadership Forum while continuing outreach through social media, newsletters, TANK bus ads, and a WCPO news story. Work also continued behind the scenes to maintain partnerships, evaluate programs, and explore future funding opportunities.

Partner Spotlight: Local Pizza Partners

We’re proud to spotlight several amazing local pizza partners who joined the Boone County Alliance in our 988 Pizza Box Sticker Campaign. By placing 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline stickers on pizza boxes, these businesses are helping share an important message with families across our community: you are not alone, and help is always just three digits away. A big thank-you to Donatos Pizza, Papa John’s, LaRosa’s (Florence), Cici’s Pizza, and Bourbon House Pizza for stepping up to support mental health awareness in such a creative and meaningful way. With every pizza box that leaves their doors, they’re helping spread hope, connection, and resources to those who may need them. Together, we’re serving up support — one slice at a time.
