March 2023
Chamber Chat Newsletter

Despite the rainy and windy start to the day, the March Breakfast Club Networking on Thursday the 2nd never skipped a beat. Not to be deterred by the inclement weather, our Breakfast Networking participants came out strong! Those who are regularly attending this networking opportunity are continuing to take advantage of the breakfast's value and benefits. I sure hope you’re one of the many members participating and that you will continue to do so. If you’re one of the few missing out- take a few minutes on the first Thursday of the month and stop by Brothers and see what your peers have known for quite a long time. You will be glad you did.

This year’s Legislative Breakfast at the Four Points Sheraton was hugely successful. We were joined once again with Stoneham and Reading/N Reading Chambers and the participation was collectively more than we could have hoped for this event. We welcomed many local Town Officials as well as a host of local State Representatives and State Senators. It was an extremely informative and beneficial event, as participants had the opportunity to address and question the Legislators directly. Not all of the audience questions were easy to answer and not all of the answers met with agreement. But it is indeed a benefit of our society that we can meet, debate and discuss those differences that do occur. It’s also a terrific benefit that your Chambers can bring all of us together in a manner such as this and provide this type of opportunity to our members.

In cooperation with the Wakefield Police Department, the Chamber is presenting another very timely and beneficial informational session. On Thursday morning March 23, the Chamber and Wakefield PD will presenting an informative session on SCAMS- Scams that are occurring around us every day locally and in our digital world of communication. Learn what to watch for and how to prepare and protect yourself. This session is free to Chamber members. Check out the link included here or visit the Chamber website.

As we mentioned last month, the Chamber is very pleased and excited to announce the return after a three- year hiatus of our very successful and popular spring event “The Blossoms at the Beebe”. At this year’s gala, we will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the library’s opening and will feature a Centennial Jubilee theme with a flower show, special musical entertainment, dancing on both levels of the library, gourmet hors d'oeuvres, a silent auction and a cash bar. The special VIP guest for the evening will be WCVB morning news anchor Doug Meehan. Sponsorships levels are available. This GALA styled event is slated for Saturday night April 29 from 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm.– contact the Chamber office for more information.

The next bi-monthly Women in Business Luncheon is scheduled for April 19th so keep an eye out for more information which will be coming out soon.

We want to take this opportunity to congratulate our friends over at McGuire & Co. Kitchen & Bath and share that they won the prestigious 2023 Best of Houzz Service award.
The Chamber calendar is filling up as we have a number of events being scheduled and coming your way soon. Please be sure to check out the upcoming events calendar.

Thank you all once again for continuing to support your Chamber.
