Exciting Updates and Opportunities!

Greetings Friends!

As we step into March, I can feel the warmth of spring in the air, and I'm sure you can too! It’s been a strange winter, and my plans for cross-country skiing were unfortunately dashed due to a lack of the critical ingredient: SNOW. With temps in the 60s, it has been easy to move past my disappointment surrounding winter recreation and into the exciting plans we have in store for spring and summer!

Do you have plans for spring break? Are you thinking of a few days away to revitalize your senses? Why not try a few days away at Moon Beach? The warming temperatures might allow a bike ride on the Heart of Vilas County Bicycle trails between St. Germain and Mercer–my wife's and my favorite in the entire state! A quiet walk on the Moon Beach bog, loons returning to the lake, and a sky full of stars might be just what your spirit needs.

Each of our sites invites and welcomes you to book a personal stay. Call the office at Moon Beach (715) 479-8255, Daycholah Center (920) 745-4746, and Cedar Valley (262) 269-9202 to make a reservation.

We are also busy gearing up for summer 2024. Registration for all camps and events is open! We're thrilled to announce an additional $10,000 in donor-advised grants specifically designated for camper scholarships at Daycholah Center. This funding is in addition to the support provided through the regular UCCI Scholarship Fund. Our goal is to extend the opportunity of camp to new youth (and adult) campers who may have hesitated due to financial constraints. With this generous support, we aim to make the transformative experience of Camp Daycholah accessible to all. Don't let cost be a barrier to your adventure – apply for a scholarship today! Please help us spread the word by sharing this exciting news with anyone you think would be interested in the opportunity to experience Camp Daycholah!

There's more big news! We've launched an exciting matching funds campaign to restore the lakeside cabin foundations at Moon Beach. We've restored two of the 16 cabins already, and our matching campaign goal of $200,000 will complete another seven. Your donation now will double the impact of your gift, and this project will secure these cabins for future generations. Talk about leaving an impact! Learn more about the project on our website.

We understand how busy life can be, but if you're looking for a transformative experience in nature, the sacred sites that we are entrusted to steward are waiting for you. These are places for you to unplug and reconnect, and we can't wait to welcome you to Moon Beach, Daycholah Center, and Cedar Valley!

With blessings,

Jim

2024 Camps & Events Calendar

We are raising funds for critical restoration on the Moon Beach lakeshore cabin foundations.

As custodians of the cherished Moon Beach Camp, we face a pivotal moment in its history. Our beloved cabins, steeped in nostalgia and cherished memories, are in urgent need of our collective support.

Preserve Our Heritage: These cabins, steeped in history and rustic charm, stand as symbols of our shared experiences and cherished moments at Moon Beach. However, time and the elements have taken their toll, demanding our immediate attention.

Critical Need for Restoration: The foundations, constructed decades ago with cinder blocks, stumps, and pine posts, now cry out for restoration. Left unattended, the Department of Natural Resources regulations could prevent rebuilding at our current shoreline location if any cabins are lost.

Your Impact Matters: Your support is pivotal in securing the future of Moon Beach Camp. By contributing to our restoration efforts, you're helping ensure the structural integrity of our cabins and preserving a legacy for generations to come.

Double Your Impact: Generous donors Reverend Milton and Trudy Staskal have pledged $100,000 as a matching gift. Your donation will effectively double its impact, helping us to raise $200,000 and complete the restoration of the next seven priority cabins.

Act Now:

  • Donate now to make a secure online donation.
  • Spread the word to friends, family, and fellow camp enthusiasts.
  • Together, let's ensure Moon Beach Camp remains a beacon of warmth, hospitality, and cherished memories for all who seek solace in its embrace.

Thank you for your unwavering support and commitment to preserving the essence of Moon Beach Camp for generations to come. Learn more about the work and project scope.
