PALM BEACH PERFECTION
I want to start off this newsletter by thanking everybody that came out to the Palm Beach boat show this weekend. The Intrepid Nation was out there in force, and we can’t thank you guys enough.

A big shout out to my Sales Team who worked all weekend at the show, and the Service Team who worked hard to set up everything. It was a total team effort. Also, special thanks to all the owners who allowed us to borrow their boats for the show to display. We appreciate you.

Next event is the Suncoast Boat Show in Sarasota, April 22-24. We’ll announce the models that will be displayed at the show soon.
INTRODUCING THE 51 PANACEA
At the show, we released information on the new 51 Panacea. It’s our largest Panacea yet, and we hope to have it to display at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show. With its expanded beam and overall length, this new boat will be able to accommodate quad 600s. Details are now available on our website.

Other new boats that we have in development include the 427 Nomad SE, and another surprise model that we haven’t released any details on yet. Stay tuned for more information coming soon!

MARKET REPORT
WHAT A GREAT MONTH MARCH HAS BEEN
First, we had a terrific kickoff to the month at the Atlantic City Boat Show. Joe and I enjoyed catching up with boaters from New Jersey and throughout the Northeast part of the country. Special thanks to sales partner, Sandy Hook Yacht Sales, for hosting and showcasing their new 409 Valor.
Then to end the month, we had a big finish at the Palm Beach International Boat Show. This highly anticipated event did not disappoint. We showcased our biggest and best display ever in Palm Beach featuring 8 different models. And to top it all off, we revealed a brand-new model. Check out the 51 Panacea now.
Up next is the Suncoast Boat Show in Sarasota, Florida. If you are in the area, please come visit us from April 22-24.

SPRING CLEANING &
SEASONAL MAINTENANCE
Spring Equinox 2022 in Northern Hemisphere was at 11:33 AM on Sunday, March 20. I know that it’s still feeling like winter in some places in the U.S., but it’s time to start thinking of another summer on the water. 

Planning for your next season is very important. Boatyards and service providers get very busy at this time of the year, so it’s good to give as much notice as possible on work that needs to be done. Engine service, cleaning and polishing, and maintenance of all systems are chores that need to be done now. 

Of great importance are batteries, as they are a key ingredient to easy use and enjoyment of your boat. A saying from those in the aviation world rings true to our world as well. The 5P’s of flying say that Prior Planning Prevents Poor Performance. There are a couple of variations on that wording, but it’s very true and these are great words to live by when on the water.
FLORIDA BOAT SHOWS
We had a wonderful collection of our boats on display at the Palm Beach show last week. Lots of our friends came to see us and share their experiences on the water. The big news in Palm Beach was the release of information on our 51 Panacea. We’ve had lots of requests for something bigger, so we are very excited about this next new model! The Sarasota show is our next event and is happening at the end of April. We will have three or four boats at that show and I’m looking forward to spending time with some of our West Coast friends who will come to visit. Palm Beach is a show that has grown into one of the major boat shows over the past decade, and Sarasota is now doing the same thing. 
FOCUS ON SAFETY
Last year, a law went into effect that mandates the use of an engine cutoff switch (ECOS) on vessels that are less than 26 feet. Our boats are generally larger than that, but it is a great idea to use an engine cutoff switch when operating any boat at speed. This is especially true when the helmsman is the only person on board. 

The usual configuration is to have a lanyard that connects to a life jacket or strong point on one’s clothing. This will shut the engine down if the clip on the lanyard disconnects from the switch on the console. This is an important safety feature if the person who is driving the boat slips and falls. There are also wireless switches now available that allow for connectivity to the cutoff switch without a lanyard. I have seen some of the law enforcement agencies using the wireless systems, so I take that as a good endorsement.

The U.S. Coast Guard has an app that will put safety information on your mobile device. It’s quite handy and allows for easy boating. You can download this app here: uscgboating.org/mobile
