What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a traditional medical modality involving the stimulation of vital points on the human body to unblock the circulation of energy and information flow essential to normal health. By unwinding stagnation and regulating the flow of vital energy, acupuncture and related modalities allow the body's own inherent homeostatic potential to be awakened. This results in therapeutic benefit for a wide range of illnesses we may experience throughout life.
About Dr. LeMay:
Matthew Bernard LeMay was born and raised in the Green Bay area and took an interest in healing arts from a young age. After studying Asian fitness arts starting in high school, and Chinese language and culture while at college in Milwaukee, he developed an interest in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). He completed a four year Master's in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (M.Ac.O.M.) at the Seattle Institute of Oriental Medicine focusing on traditional theory as explicated in classical Chinese sources, clinic-based skill development and patient-centered care. He then went on to complete a regionally-accredited Doctorate of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (D.A.O.M.) at Bastyr University with specialization in oncology, pain management and integration of traditional medicine with modern biomedical and naturopathic research and therapeutics.
His wish is to help people live longer, healthier and happier lives with traditional and holistic medicine and especially to support people in awakening their inner physician through life nourishing principles and Qigong.
