Class opens with a guided meditation. Meditation can remove stress and replace it with a deeper awareness of our self and of finding inner peace. It’s one tool we have to balance our emotions, deal with physical and psychological distress, and promote the peace of the present moment.
Yin Yoga is for all levels and abilities. A Yin Yoga class is cool, quiet and meditative and is designed to open blocked energy channels and increase the flow of life force (chi) in the body.
Poses are held for 2-7 minutes and props may be used for added comfort, available in the studio for all to use. By holding these specifically designed Yin poses, we can build strength and flexibility in our connective tissues--which help to prevent injuries and tightness in our joints, tendons, ligaments and fascia.
This class is a must-do for both active people and those who enjoy a quiet, calming class. Yoga students will quickly learn the benefits of incorporating this style of yoga into their regular practice.
This event will be taking the place of regularly scheduled Warm Yin for the evening.
