March Newsletter

We are getting ready for another busy season at Island Beach! As a volunteer run organization, the Friends of IBSP depends on the generosity of those who love this Park to make our programs a success. Volunteering is an excellent way to enjoy the Park and meet some great people! Can you donate a few hours of your time? See below for a full list of volunteer opportunities. We hope to see you there!

Volunteer Opportunities

"You make a living by what you get.
You make a life by what you give." ~Winston Churchill

Conservation Talks: We need help with set up, break down, and merchandise sales from 1:00 to 4:00 on 3/24, and 3/31.

Beach Grass Planting: We need team leaders to help coordinate the groups of volunteers. If you have participated in a planting before, you are qualified to be a group leader!

Event Promotion: We need volunteers to help distribute our Visitors Guide and Event posters to local businesses.

May Day Spring Festival and Pet Expo: Just like the Beach Plum Festival, May Day is volunteer run! On May 4th, from 10:00 - 4:00, we need volunteers to collect donations at the gate, help with setup and breakdown, and sell merchandise.

Ocean Fun Day: Help us run our information booth at this fun family event, on May 18th from 11:00 - 3:00.

National Trails Day: We will be conducting trail maintenance, litter patrols and fixing split rail fencing damaged by the storms.

Thursdays in the Park: We need help with our information booth and collecting donations at the gate. This year, we have dates throughout the summer rather than just in August. This is a major fundraiser for the Friends, please consider helping out! 6/27, 7/18, 7/25, 8/8, and 8/25.
