Why are we focusing so much on the connection between the brain and hearing loss? By now, we have all heard that untreated hearing loss can contribute to dementia and Alzheimer's. There is now enough data to state that :hearing loss is the most modifiable disorder than can potentially slow down brain decline. In other words, untreated hearing loss in mid-life has been shown to negatively affect brain performance. The research now shows that if you treat hearing loss with good, well fit, hearing aids, cognitive decline can be slowed down. It cannot be reversed, but it can be significantly slowed down. The other two modifiable disorders are hypertension and obesity.
By including the Cognivue screening test into our test battery, we are looking for early signs of cognitive decline so that you can have a conversation with your physician.
Cognitive decline does not have to be inevitable. Please call 561-366-7219 to make an appointment. 10 minutes of your time could be the most important 10 minutes of your life.
Happy Passover
We want to wish all who celebrate a Happy Passover. Let's hope this is the last holiday season where we have to socially distance from our friends and family.
