Enchanting Ireland

The late Irish author, Maeve Binchy wrote, “If you don’t go to a dance, you can never be rejected; but you’ll never get to dance either.” After my first trip to Ireland last fall, I would like to compare the “dance" with a visit to this magical place. If I had not taken the opportunity to learn more about this ‘wee’ little country, I would never have known what I missed.

Brendan Vacations hosted a group of travel agents on an educational journey entitled “Enchanting Ireland & Ashford Castle” and I was fortunate enough to be a part of it. We started our journey in Dublin where we stayed at the Camden Court Hotel. This was a great, central location for exploring and seeing the sights of the city. Before the rest of the group arrived, I took a leisurely walk to Saint Stephen’s Green Park where one could wander for hours and not see it all. Our group began the trip with a visit to Trinity College to see the Book of Kells and finished off the day with a welcome reception at the EPIC Museum. Catherine Reilly, managing director of Brendan Vacations was there to extend a true Irish welcome. The EPIC (Every Person Is Connected) Museum is a “must see' for all who want to know the history of Irish emigration.

Las Vegas Married Couples Vacation
Every year we try our best to have a Married Couples vacation. With all of us raising families and busy working it is important to have an adult vacation. Last year was a Bahamas cruise and this year we took on Las Vegas during Valentine’s weekend.
We had so many options in Las Vegas for fun… entertainment, food, shopping and of course the gambling. We rode the monorail to each hotel casino on the strip which made it convenient to also tour the hotels. All the hotels had a different atmosphere from riding to the top of the Eiffel Tower in the Paris Hotel, we saw the fountain shows at Bellagio, plenty of shopping options and night time fun (what goes on in Vegas stays in Vegas).
Chynell, thanks for assisting us with all the preparations. The trip ran smoothly from the shuttle from the airport to the hotel check in at MGM Grand. We are looking forward to our 2020 vacation—next year someplace tropical.

The island is about 300 miles long and 170 miles wide, and covers approximately 32,600 square miles.
Ireland has 32 counties. There are 26
in the Republic of Ireland and 6 in Northern Ireland.
The Republic of Ireland is a parliamentary democracy with a president as head of state. Northern Ireland has its own regional government, but is part of the United Kingdom.
There are about 6 million people living on the island – 4.3 million people live in the Republic of Ireland and 1.7 million in Northern Ireland. One third of the population is under
the age of 29.
