Hear Our Voices, The Embracing Autism Evening Benefitting the Avondale House Adult Programs

The Embracing Autism Evening, Hear our Voices is less than a month away! We hope you can join us on April 14 at River Oaks Country Club for an incredible evening featuring a live performance from three of Nashville’s top singer/songwriters, Phillip White, Monty Holmes and Kent Blazy, a fabulous dinner and an awards ceremony honoring Capital One, Corporate Partner Honoree and Houston Methodist, Medical Honoree. This is an event you don't want to miss!

April is Autism Acceptance Month!

We hope to see you on April 3 at the Houston Astros Autism Awareness Night!

Join us for Autism Awareness Night on April 3 as the Houston Astros face off against the Detroit Tigers at 7:10pm. This night will feature a special pre-game ceremony and unique activities around the ballpark including a sensory room, vendor booths, and more!

Walk, Run or Bike for Avondale House!

Are you interested in participating in the Chevron Houston Marathon, Aramco Houston Half Marathon or the We Are Houston 5K in 2024? Registration is now open. The marathon weekend of events is happening on January 13 and 14, 2024.

Bike to the Beach, the ride from Houston to Surfside in support of individuals with autism and disABILITIES is happening on October 14, 2023! If you are interested in cycling 25, 50 or 100 miles with Team Avondale House, we'd love to have you join us this year!

Samantha was born and raised in California and moved to the Houston area almost a year ago. She has been working with adults who have intellectual and developmental disabilities for about 10 years and has loved every minute of it. In California, she was the director of a day program that served over 200 individuals and focused on community integration, life skills, and most importantly, having fun! She has an immense passion for the autism community and is excited to do all that she can to support our participants in living fulfilling lives.

Samantha has learned so much in her short time in Texas thus far and is extremely excited to be a part of the Avondale House team. As Residential Manager, she will be working closely with the residents and staff to ensure that each of our homes are not only a safe environment, but one that fosters joy, acceptance, and independence.
