Greene County Partnership Annual Meeting
Invitations have gone out for the Greene County Partnership Annual Meeting that is planned for Tuesday, March 12, at the General Morgan Inn & Conference Center from 5 to 7 p.m. Guests will enjoy heavy hors d'oeuvres, drinks, and background musical entertainment by Brim Leal. The cost is $30 per person. Don't forget to RSVP to 423-638-4111 by Friday, March 8.

Iris Festival
The 25th Annual Iris Festival will be held in downtown historic Greeneville Saturday and Sunday, May 18 - 19. The festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. If you would like to participate as a vendor or sponsor of the event, contact the Partnership at 423-638-4111 or email  gcp@greenecop.com
The Annual Legislative Breakfast is scheduled for Friday, March 22, at 7:30 a.m. at the General Morgan Inn & Conference Center. Summers Taylor, Inc. will sponsor the event. Make plans now for this event at a cost of $20 per person paid in advance or $25 at the door. Take this opportunity to speak with state and local representatives and to hear their comments on pending legislation. For more information, call the Partnership at 638-4111.
Tourism
The 11 th Antique Appraisal Fair & Show, scheduled for Saturday, March 23 at Greeneville High School will feature 40 antique dealers and 4-6 accredited appraisers assessing the value of antiques brought in by the public at a cost of $5 each. A special thanks goes out to the Greeneville City Schools for their title sponsorship as well as Back Porch Antiques, MECO, Rodefer Moss, Sam’s Club, K-VaT Foods, and Pinnacle Home Improvements for their sponsorship. If you are interested in sponsoring the Appraisal Fair, the available levels are Silver at $250 and Gold at $500. Please contact Tammy Kinser for more information. 
Familiarization Tours
The Tourism Department hosted a Familiarization Tour on Valentine’s Day weekend. The bloggers Kay and Si, originally from Nashville, stayed at the historic General Morgan Inn, toured the City Garage Car Museum, the Andrew Johnson National Historic Site, the Greeneville Greene County History Museum, David Crockett Birthplace State Park and the Dickson- Williams Mansion. In their spare time, the bloggers went hiking with llamas with Sandy Sgrillo and Wandering Llamas, ate at Tipton’s Café, Farmer’s Daughter, Brumley’s, Old Oak Taproom and enjoyed the Platters and the Drifters at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center. A huge thanks goes out to all that hosted Kay and Si as well as donated services, tickets or meals. The FAM Tour, was coordinated by GCP Tourism and the TN Department of Tourist Development. Another FAM is planned for March 22 & 23.  
Hospitality Training Workshops
The Tourism Advisory Task Force has been busy working on new locations to host their FREE Hospitality Training workshops. These workshops, led by a member of the Task Force, take place in your location and offers your employees the opportunity to be better prepared to ask that ever popular question, “What is there to do in Greeneville?” If you would like to sign up for one of these workshops that take up to 20 minutes maximum, please contact Tammy Kinser . The workshop is FREE, but the information gained for your employees is PRICELESS. 
High Tops to High Heels Luncheon Receives Award
The Sports Council and its inaugural High Tops to High Heels Luncheon was awarded the Bronze award for “Best New Event” by the Southeast Festival and Events Association’s Kaleidoscope Committee on Monday, February 25 at the Dollywood’s Dreammore Resort. Accepting the award were Sports Council members Kristen Atwell, General Manager of the Greeneville Reds and Jama Long, ProService Specialist with Lowe’s. A special thanks goes out to Kristen and Jama for accepting the award and for co-chairing the event. Plans for the second annual High Tops to High Heels luncheon are already underway with two great names being considered for the speaker. Sponsorhip event levels are $100 for a table, $250 for a Silver, or $500 for a Gold. Team sponsorships will also be available, contact Tammy Kinser for more information.  
NJCAA DIII World Series
The logo has been confirmed and plans are underway for the 2019 National Junior College Athletic Association’s Div. III World Series coming up May 24-30. More than 280 championship level players as well as their coaches and families will visit our area for a minimum of five days. The Council is currently seeking sponsorships at levels from $500 up to $5,000 as well as volunteers and items for the goody bags. If you are interested in more information on this event that gets nationwide exposure for our community, please contact Tammy Kinser.  A special thanks to sponsors that have already signed on for the World Series, Greene County Government, John Deere Power Products, Town of Greeneville, City of Tusculum, Town of Mosheim, Brolin & Bailey, WGRV and the General Morgan Inn for already signing up to support this $2.1M event. 
Keep Greene Beautiful
It’s Great American Cleanup Time!
Keep Greene Beautiful is joining other Keep America Beautiful affiliates across the country in encouraging everyone to clean up litter from roads and creeks, remove graffiti, initiate beautification and community improvement projects, plant trees and flowers in observance of the Great American Cleanup! New pole banners will be placed on Main Street to increase the promotion and recruit more volunteers. Keep Greene Beautiful will be providing free trash bags to participating individuals. Call Jennifer Wilder today at the Partnership, 638-4111, to schedule your cleanup and make arrangements to get your trash bags. Thank you to local sponsors Greene County Farm Bureau-Trey Youngblood, John Deere Power Products and Scepter Greeneville. Call the Partnership more information on the Great American Cleanup or any of the Keep Greene Beautiful programs.
Swing Into Spring Tournament
Make plans now to participate in the Keep Greene Beautiful “Swing Into Spring” Golf Tournament title sponsored by Waste Industries on April 11 at Link Hills Country Club. Sponsorships are available as follows: Luncheon, $750; Contest, $200; and Hole Sponsor, $100. The cost per team is $400. Anyone interested in the tournament should contact Jennifer Wilder at 638-4111 or email kgb@greenecop.com.
Education & Workforce Development
Teacher Supply Depot
The Teacher Supply Depot will be opening on Tuesday, March 5th from 5:30-6:30 pm and Saturday, March 9th from 9 a.m. until noon. Certified teachers in Greeneville City and Greene County can shop for free school supplies during these openings. The Teacher Supply Depot will soon be moving to a new location in the Balllad Health System. Many thanks to Laughlin Memorial Hospital for hosting the Teacher Supply Depot since 2003. Transition Career Fair 2019
Greeneville City Schools, Greene County Schools, TN Department of Human Services, and the UT Knoxville Center for Literacy, Education, & Employment will be hosting the Greeneville Transition Career Fair on March 19th at the Eastview Recreation Center. This fair is geared towards high school students making the transition into the workforce in the near future.
