MARCH NEWSLETTER

You did not choose me but I chose you. And I appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask him in my name.
                                                     - John 15:16

Being a follower of Jesus is more than hoping for a life that has faith and meaning; it's deeper than clich├ęs, Facebook memes and believing that faith is something we do all by ourselves.

Jesus said, we are to, "bear fruit that will last," not because we chose Him - but because He chose us.

The truth of our story revealed in the scriptures is that we can't do this alone.  It's why God came down in Love and gathered us as His Church.

How do we nurture a life that is purposeful, deep and fruitful?  What does discipleship expect of us?  How can we know a spiritual life that changes us and makes a difference?

During this season of Lent, we will learn how to live as people who bear fruit through The Five Practices of a Fruitful Life.   Join us each week for these important topics: Radical Hospitality. Intentional Faith Development. Passionate Worship.  Risk-Taking Mission and Service. Extravagant Generosity.

On Palm Sunday, we will recommit ourselves to our life together and consecrate our commitment to Christ's Church.
SPECIAL NOTES FOR LENTEN SERVICES
  • Lunches-No lunches will be served after the noon Lenten worship service this year and no evening meal prior to the evening Lenten worship service.
  • Flowers- We will not be placing flowers in church during the Lenten season, but instead keep the Lenten decor'.  You are welcome to make special gifts in  honor of or in memory of loved ones during this time.  Call the church office with your requests.  Placing flowers in the church will resume after Easter.

DAY SCHOOL NEWS
day schoo letterhead

February found us buzzing with activity as the school was visited by a swarm of honey bees looking for a home!  They settled in the tree just outside of our   Discovery Room, where we got a great view from the window!  A local bee keeper assisted us by moving the bees into a hive while we watched.  He entertained many questions from our Pre-K kids and spontaneous and         experiential learning bloomed!

The ma ny Valentine parties and activities included sharing love in the community by dedicating our Chapel offerings to Adam's Angels Ministry.  Children sang songs led by Ann Sommer at a Wednesday evening service.  Many families attended the service and our children enjoyed Wiggle & Worship!

We blow into March with a Book Fair March 20-24, and a camping themed Family Night at the Book Fair on the 23 rd at 5:30.  Everyone is welcome, so come sing campfire songs and enjoy camp treats with us!  CLASS will hold their spring chicken spaghetti drive-thru dinner on March 28 th .  Tickets available at the school or in the church office.  We will have a playground work day on April 1 st , starting at 8:00am.  We would love to have you there!  Many hands make light work!!!

Blessings,
Ginny Gaskamp
