New Day

Foster Home

March 2024

VIETNAM

With the Tet holidays now behind us, two of our programs are taking big steps forward in this 2024 “leap” year.

After several months of looking, we are happy to report that we just signed a 3 year lease for a 2nd guest house

This will allow us to more than double the number of families we can house every day. While we will continue sponsoring surgeries in our Medical Program, the Guest House is something unique we offer, and the need is huge. We are so grateful for all who gave last year to help make this possible.

Also, our student sponsor program has just received approval in four new locations to provide assistance to more than 400 students from families with financial need. We’re putting all of the details in place now and will share more about this in our next email.

CHINA

ELEOS PROJECT

Being taught to accept the past.

No matter how bad their home or family may seem, they need to learn acceptance. Only by learning to accept your bad family background and your unbearable situation can you learn to accept yourself. Only by learning to accept the past can we better face the present and move towards the future.

Need to cultivate grateful hearts.

They need to know that what they have now may not be the best, but it could be worse. They need to understand that the people who love them do what they can for them, not out of obligation, but because of love.

Only love can raise healthy children.

Only with love can we accept and be grateful.

In January 2024 - 10 new children joined the Eleos project. Please join us in welcoming

Meiling, Jiashou, Jiahao, Boyu, Yaxin, Wenting

His mother left home when he was four years old, never to be found. Their family lives in a cave, and there is hardly anything in the home. His father suffered from lumbar vertebrae necrosis a few years ago, in order to get some treatment, his grandpa borrowed a lot of money. Weihong's father has not fully recovered and is unable to work. Grandpa is very old, in addition to taking care of the house he also raise some sheep. Weihong helps his grandfather and father do some housework and raise sheep at home.
