Volunteer Update
Rockstar volunteer Velonda Anderson, PhD, helping with office projects.
VegMichigan is now accepting applications from anyone interested in volunteering, including brand new volunteers! To join the team, please fill out our volunteer application and select an orientation date. Huge thanks to all of our existing volunteers who have already signed up through the new software and attended orientation! We hope you are finding the system useful and enjoying all the new volunteer opportunities. Our staff greatly appreciates all of your help in the office, at events, and more!

In March, we have a unique opportunity available. As part of our contract with the City of Ann Arbor, we will be distributing door hangers in Ann Arbor neighborhoods to inform residents about the connection between food choices and our carbon footprint. If you’d like to help, please sign up on Volgistics, or email Katie at [email protected] for more information.

For anyone interested in Spring VegFest volunteer roles, we will be posting opportunities soon. Please note that these will be offered through Volgistics, so if you haven’t signed up yet, please do so today using the link above!
Making Huge Strides in Ann Arbor
We are thrilled to have a 3-year contract with the City of Ann Arbor as an official collaborator to support their 2030 carbon-neutral initiative. We are halfway through the first year and have made significant progress. 351 people have participated in our 30 Day Plant-Based Pledge, and over 1600 people have been reached through in-person presentations, outreach events, free plant-based samplings, and our monthly Meetups. 93% of the plant-based pledge respondents said they would continue to eat more plant-based. Our presentation surveys revealed that many people are surprised to learn about the connection between our household food choices and climate change and that they are motivated to eat more plant-based meals to do their part in protecting the environment.
