March Newsletter

Dear Residents,

As March unfolds, I am delighted to update you on the remarkable progress in our city's ongoing beautification efforts, with a special highlight on the recently completed renovations at Carlow Park Playground. The Carlow Park Playground has undergone an extensive restoration, aimed at providing a more enjoyable and engaging space for our residents.

In addition to the physical upgrades, we are excited to introduce a diverse series of monthly enrichment classes to our Senior Center with a newly added 'Senior Tech Class', designed to assist our elderly community with the basics of day-to-day technology. These initiatives are part of our ongoing mission to create a welcoming environment that feels like home.

As we celebrate the blossoming of spring, I encourage you to visit Carlow Park Playground and experience firsthand the transformations made for the enjoyment of all residents. Thank you for your continued support as we work together to make our city an even more vibrant and welcoming place to call home.

Warm regards,

Mayor Jose "Pepe" Diaz

The primary goal is to inspire physical activity, a better quality of life, and to beautify our neighborhoods. Carlow Park is located at 10601 SW 5th St, Sweetwater, FL 33174, next to the Mildred and Claude Pepper Senior Center.

In the City of Sweetwater, our Seniors are rewriting the story of aging with Tai Chi. At our senior center, this ancient practice isn’t just exercise—it’s a lifeline.

Through gentle movements, our elders have found strength, balance, and even newfound mobility. Witnessing one of our own Sweetwater seniors no longer needing the use of her walker is a testament to the power of Tai Chi. Join us in celebrating the transformative journey brought by the programs offered at our Senior Center as we focus on improving the physical and mental well-being of our residents.
