Dear Glenda,
As March unfolds, I find myself in a season of transition, a bridge between the quiet stillness of winter and the blossoming energy of spring. Outside my front window the camelia tree is covered with soft pink buds that appear ready, but also not quite ready, to burst forth. They wait patiently for the timing to be just right. The last two warm sunny days here in the Pacific Northwest have been a teaser for spring. More chilly rainy weather is in the forecast. And I wait not-so-patiently for the arrival of spring. Gaia has her own timing.
As always, nature offers a wise lesson. She reminds me that change is not abrupt but gradual, unfolding in its own time. Just as the earth awakens, I too can embrace the beauty of slow transformation in my personal and creative life.
I have sometimes resisted change, clinging to the comfort of what is familiar. A year or so ago, I found myself at a crossroads, uncertain of my next creative step. My book was written and published, but I didn’t feel finished with bringing creative offerings into the world. I was in the liminal space between big projects. I hesitated there for a while, afraid that moving forward could result in failure. Then, as I let go and leaned into the unknown, I discovered new inspiration and birthed the 13 Moons Art and SoulCollage® Quest. Now that offering is complete and I am back to what's-next mode. Tomorrow I will head up to Breitenbush Hot Springs for a couple of days of respite to mark the completion of 13 Moons and let my mind and body sit in liminal space for a time and let what's next grow organically. Much like the first buds of spring breaking through the frost, growth often happens quietly, beneath the surface, until suddenly, it’s undeniable and reaches full bloom.
This liminal season invites us to honor the endings that make way for new beginnings. What part of you is ready to awaken? Is there a creative or personal shift that you have been resisting? March is a reminder that liminal space, though sometimes uncomfortable, is a necessary part of our evolution. If we can accept and surrender, life can become a sometimes wild and often joyful ride into the unknown.

Would you like to reignite the wildness in you? Why not start by making your own Wild Darling Spirit Being? (With a bow to Rumi for the poem featured in this newsletter.)
These beings could also be called “Your Sacred Familiar.” In the context of folklore, a familiar referred to a supernatural entity, often depicted as an animal or spirit, believed to be a companion or assistant. These familiars were thought to be inherited, and were believed to aid in magical practices, divination, and other forms of spiritual insight.
Our Sacred Familiar Wild Darling Spirit Beings serve as reminders of the thrill of being untamed and powerfully authentic. As you begin to create your Wild Darling, she will inform you of her desired size and shape, she will continue to guide you as you create her. In the end, she will be as unique and beautiful as you are.

At night, I open the window
and ask the moon to come
and press its face against mine.
Breathe into me.
Close the language - door and

Earth Love Treasure Box Workshop

Join us for a heartwarming craft workshop where we will create Earth Love Treasure Boxes -- beautiful, personalized keepsake boxes designed to hold the special natural treasures you've collected over the years, like feathers, shells, stones, and bits of wood.
This workshop is open to all ages and encourages a deep connection with nature and creativity. Using decoupage techniques, participants will transform simple book-board boxes into unique works of art using a variety of papers, ephemera, and textured materials, such as vintage maps, botanical prints, natural fibers, and handmade papers to create layered, meaningful designs.
Throughout the workshop, we will explore themes of memory, nature, and storytelling, making each box a reflection of the treasures and experiences it holds. Whether you're creating for yourself or as a gift, this experience is about honoring the beauty of the natural world and the special objects we collect along the way.
Workshop fee of $85 includes one 8"x8"x4" book-board box.
