Great Composers Get a Makeover
With Lisa Bergman
Tuesday, March 16 at 7:00pm PT

Our next online event will feature Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival Board Member and longtime friend Lisa Bergman! Lisa has been an artist and lecturer at many OICMF events. In addition, Lisa is also known as an on-air radio announcer, pianist, humorist, and Gracie Award winner.

Lisa will present a lively exploration that spotlights the innermost secrets of over five centuries of classical music. She will share anecdotes about instruments, sounds, composers, techniques, and even bloopers and hilarity onstage.

Lisa is a classically trained pianist and a graduate of The Juilliard School, Stony Brook University, and University of Washington. She will entertain from the keyboard and promises laughter, goose bumps, and even an occasional tear.

Thank you to our sponsor for this event, Catherine Pederson.

Tickets for this Zoom session are only $12, and are available here, and limited to only 100 attendees, so sign up now!

 A Very Sweet Evening

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Hearts of Gold Gala on February 16. The concert, streamed live from the Music Room in the Mansion at Rosario Resort and Spa, featured oboist Nathan Hughes, violinist and violist Aloysia Friedmann, cellist Sæunn Thorsteinsdóttir, and pianist Jon Kimura Parker. Behind the scenes, audio and video magic was performed by Matthew Laslo (and Jackie!), who gave us great sound and a seamless multi-camera experience. After the music, we enjoyed a wonderful, fun, and informative Zoom “reception” where we learned much about the artists and their instruments.

We hope you enjoy these photos from the big night (and a couple of shots of what it took to get there!)

Sometimes it takes a bit to actually get to the performance space...Jackie and Matthew are on the job...
As satisfying as getting through William Hirtz's Wizard of Oz Fantasy!
