Storm Clean-up Continues

Members of the Montgomery Department of Public Works are cleaning up debris left over from the storm earlier this week as PSE&G crews restore power lines. The DPW will continue clearing debris after PSE&G completes their work. We are asking residents to stay vigilant while clean up efforts continue. Please look out for downed trees or wires while traveling through the community. Residents can use the GovAlert mobile app or Report-a-Concern website form to file non-emergency issues with the township.

Brush-Only Drop-Off: To assist residents with cleanup, the container facility at 12 Harlingen Rd., Belle Mead will be open for additional hours for brush disposal. For this week only, no appointments are required for brush-only drop-off. Residents can utilize the container facility from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. until Friday, March 20, and 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 21.

Repairing Our Streets: Report Potholes

Members of the Montgomery Department of Public Works have been working to repair potholes on township roads. We would like to remind residents to drive slowly through work zones and adhere to all signs.

Residents can report potholes on township-maintained roads by submitting a Report-a-Concern form or directly to road foreman John Brown at (908) 533-9322. Residents can report potholes on county-maintained roads by emailing the Somerset County Road Department at RoadDiv@co.somerset.nj.us. Somerset County Roads include all roads in Skillman Park and Routes 518, 533, 601, 602, 604, 605, 630, and 632.

Opportunity for Montgomery Businesses!

The Montgomery Township Economic Development Commission is teaming up with the Parks and Recreation Department to spotlight 10 local businesses with promotional tables at the annual Spring Fling event at Montgomery High School. Businesses must bring their own pop-up tents and tables. No sales are permitted and free giveaways are required. If interested, please contact Lori Savron at LSavron@montgomerynj.gov. Tables are first come, first serve. Sign up today to guarantee your spot!

The partnership is a new event in celebration of National Small Business Week which runs from May 3 to May 9. For over 60 years, National Small Business Week has been an annual celebration hosted by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to recognize the critical role small businesses play in the U.S. economy.

Due to plumbing repairs crossing the lobby floor, lobby bathrooms will be inaccessible from Friday, March 27 to Sunday, March 29. The library will be open and fully accessible. Those at the library will need to use the library bathroom during this time. Access to the police lobby will also be blocked from the front outside entrance. Those who need to access the police department can use the west side entrance by the elevators. All access will be restored on Monday, March 30.

Due to sewer main construction, the Montgomery Public Works Yard at 12 Harlingen Road will be temporarily closed to the public from April 20 to approximately July 20. During this time, the container facility and large containers for recycling materials will be closed. There will be no recycling blue bin pick-up. Find more information and possible alternatives for recycling or disposal on our website.
