Swim lessons set a positive foundation towards a lifetime of participation and enjoyment in a variety of water sports and aquatic venues on, in and around the water. Held at Otter Cove Aquatic Park & Swanson Pool

Why I chose this program: 

Make a splash and learn or improve upon a valuable life skill in summer swim lessons. The St. Charles Park District learn-to-swim program offers classes for all ages and abilities at an affordable price at two convenient locations. Registration is now open and lessons begin June 7!

Unleashing Justice: A Police K-9 Demonstration

Tuesday, March 4 • 10-11am

See police K-9 Hetfield from the Morris Police Department in action! Learn how K-9 units are vital assets to law enforcement, often helping in search-and-rescue operations, narcotics enforcement, and suspect apprehension. Held at Pottawatomie Community Center.

Why I chose this program: 

Have you ever wondered how police K-9 can sniff out narcotics, firearms, and find missing people? Did you know a canine has the ability to smell 100,000 times stronger than a human? I am so looking forward to learning from Officer Nick and his K-9 Hetfield! I hope you can join us for this educational and exciting police K-9 demonstration. 

Drop-In Indoor Pickleball

Grab a friend and play some drop-in pickleball! In this informal, open-play format players of all skill levels can show up at scheduled times to join games without prior arrangement. Held at Haines Gymnasium and Pottawatomie Community Center.

Do you attend Wredling Middle School? Need a ride to the teen center after school? On the third Wednesday of the month, climb aboard a park district shuttle bus that will take you from school to the best place for friends and fun! Riders must register in advance and be active STCU members. Shuttle bus runs from Wredling Middle School to STCU.

This is a great opportunity for Wredling middle schoolers to take advantage of a ride to the STCU on an early release day. If you're bored after school and need a place to hangout, do some gaming, shoot pool, or play ping-pong — grab your friends, hop on the shuttle bus and head to the STCU!

Want to learn some basic coding, join us at the STCU as we jump into some beginner lessons on code.org and Minecraft Education. We’ll solve challenges, design builds, and discover how programming brings the Minecraft world to life! No experience needed – just come ready to explore! Held at STC Underground Teen Center, inside Baker Community Center.

This is my pick of the month because it’s a great opportunity for anyone who loves Minecraft and wants to learn more about the behind the scenes aspects of how Minecraft comes to life!

Spring Break Total Sports Camp

M-F • March 31-April 4 • 9am-12pm

Explore a variety of sports including basketball, floor hockey, flag football, kickball, soccer, t-ball, capture the flag and other group games. Focus on skill development, followed by game play for each sport in a fun and energetic atmosphere that promotes teamwork and good sportsmanship. Campers will receive a t-shirt. Held at Pottawatomie Community Center.

This is a great chance for the kids to get to try a bunch of different sports on their spring break to see what sports they may want to pursue as they get older!

Summer camp is a supportive, creative, nurturing environment for children to learn and grow physically and emotionally! Your child will make new friends, hike and explore in our natural areas, participate in science experiments, create art projects and more!
