Each month, as part of this newsletter, I will continue to share with you my ideas that may work for you as you strive to be more environmentally sustainable.

Embracing Sustainability in Marketing

What is the best way for a Subaru retailer to embrace sustainability in marketing?


Embracing sustainability in marketing can be a great way for Subaru retailers to attract eco-conscious customers and improve the brand’s reputation. Here are some effective strategies:


1. Promote Eco-Friendly Vehicles: Highlight the benefits of hybrid and electric vehicles in your marketing campaigns. Educate customers about their environmental impact and cost savings.

2. Energy-Efficient Operations: Implement energy-efficient practices in your facility, such as using LED lighting, solar panels, and energy-efficient HVAC systems. Share these initiatives with your customers to show your commitment to sustainability.

3. Green Facility Management: Use environmentally friendly materials in your facility's construction and maintenance. This includes recycled materials for furniture and decorations, non-toxic paints, and eco-friendly cleaning products.

Festival for the Eno

Hendrick Subaru Southpoint, of Durham, NC, made the most of their sponsorship at the 2024 Eno Festival this past July by showcasing an all-electric Solterra and a brand-new 2025 Forester at Eno State Park. Hendrick proves that "Subaru Loves the Earth" by their continuing partnership with the Eno River Association, committed to the conservation and protection of the resources of the Eno River Basin.


Hendrick Subaru Southpoint proudly sponsored the 2024 Festival for the Eno River as part of their commitment to environmental preservation through the Subaru Loves the Earth campaign. The festival serves to benefit the Eno River Association, founded in 1966, which has protected over 7800 acres of land and helped to create five local/state/regional nature parks. The association strives to inspire others to prioritize the safekeeping and preservation of local natural resources. The Eno Fest is the biggest fund raiser for the association, to provide resources for their environmental programs.

Garcia Subaru North -- Albuquerque, NM

Xeriscaping

Garcia Subaru North in Albuquerque, NM, has the right idea for low-maintenance landscaping in an arid climate! Xeriscaping is a revolutionary approach that champions water conservation by utilizing innovative irrigation techniques, thereby dramatically reducing water consumption as well as the water utility bill at their retail facility. Imagine landscaping that requires minimal maintenance, saving both time and money. No longer will you have the hassle (or the cost!) of chemical fertilizers and pesticides or of mowing the lawn.

Delaney Subaru -- Indiana, PA

Earth Day 2024

Delaney Subaru, in Indiana, PA, clearly indicates that "Subaru Loves the Earth", based on their 2024 Earth Day activities. To prepare for their Earth Day celebration, Delaney employees teamed up with a local Boy Scout troop. Together they prepped and packed 300 dogwood trees to be handed out to customers during the Earth Day celebration. This endeavor helped the scouts complete a service project and also provided an opportunity for them to learn about Delaney's commitment to the Earth and about what it takes to be an Eco-Friendly Retailer. Delaney also encouraged customers to bring in their K-cups and pop tops for recycling.

Educating young minds about the significance of eco-friendly practices not only fosters awareness but also inspires actionable change as they think about adopting eco-friendly practices. Through engaging programs and hands-on activities, you can equip the next generation with the knowledge and skills necessary to protect our planet. In so doing, you instill a sense of responsibility towards our planet and inspire them to make sustainable choices, enabling them not only to be aware of, but also proactive in, protecting the environment.


Comprehensive educational initiatives that emphasize recycling, resource conservation, and the collective impact of personal choices on the environment can inspire youth to take meaningful action. Such programs not only enhance their understanding of environmental issues but also empower them to become responsible citizens who contribute positively to their communities and the world at large.
