A message from our CEO
We are thrilled to be working with our Habitat Heartland Brant-Norfolk Chapter to serve families and individuals in 6 counties!

As we enter the month of March, we are proud to announce that all 9 of our ReStores are now open to the public, following all necessary provincial health and safety measures for reopening. You can now shop in-store and online for all your home improvement, decor, and DIY needs! Our ReStores have new product being added daily, and will continue to accept donations and e-waste recycling!

We have some exciting build updates this month as well. On March 25th, join us in celebrating the Virtual Key Ceremony for Teagan's family and Shayna's family in St. Thomas! We are thrilled to be celebrating the completion of our semi-detached build project for these two families with a Virtual Key Ceremony, which will be broadcasted live on our Facebook page. While we celebrate the completion of our St. Thomas project, Habitat Heartland is also preparing to build in Drumbo! If you or someone you know may qualify to own a Habitat home in Drumbo, take the eligibility quiz on our website, linked below. In Norfolk County, work continues on our Brook Street Build, a single-family three-bedroom home in the Town of Simcoe. We're excited to see the recent progress made by our Brant-Norfolk Chapter build team and volunteers. Now that the framing is complete, the roof is on and windows have been installed! See the link below for more details on this build.

Habitat Heartland continues to welcome volunteers to our ReStores and build sites following provincial health & safety protocols, and we have a variety of volunteer positions available for you to get involved!

Thank you for your continued support, and stay well!

The Lasting Impact of Women's Build, Since 1991
“I am afraid to think where I would be right now without Habitat,” Janet says. “It gave (my daughters) a lot more confidence. It gave me a lot more confidence.”

Janet moved into her house in 1991, after she and dozens of other women raised it as part of Habitat’s first Women Build. Back then, the program to empower women through affordable shelter was a grassroots effort started by Habitat Charlotte, with Janet its first participant.

Fast forward to volunteers and future Habitat homeowners working alongside each other in communities across North America each year during National Women Build Week. The build week, held just before Mother’s Day, has drawn over 100,000 volunteers.
