Sports Make Us More

Here's what you should know this month.

Refer an Instructor to teach at The Hartford Ski Spectacular

We are excited to be starting our search for highly qualified ski and snowboard instructors to teach at the 40th annual The Hartford Ski Spectacular, December 6-12, 2026. We are asking our member organizations to refer qualified Level I, Level II and Level III Adaptive PSIA-AASI Instructors. Referred instructors must be currently certified and in good standing (up to date with CEUs). Please refer up to 10 qualified instructors. We will reach out to instructors you refer in early July to extend an invitation to apply to be a Learn to Ski or Snowboard Instructor.

The deadline to submit referrals is Friday, April 3rd, 2026.

Member Survey Results Available

Our Member Organization Survey provides critical data to help you strengthen programs, secure funding, and advocate for expanded opportunities.

The 2026 results are now available! Use this data to benchmark your performance, identify growth strategies, and demonstrate impact to stakeholders and funders. The survey captures the collective power of our network and the nationwide reach of adaptive sports programming.

Celebrate 50 years of the Winter Paralympics

The 2026 Paralympic Winter Games (March 6-15) showcase the world's best athletes competing at the highest level. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the first Winter Paralympics—a powerful moment to celebrate how far the movement has come. From the speed and precision of Para Alpine Skiing to the debut of Wheelchair Curling mixed doubles, these Games demonstrate that greatness is defined by courage, skill, and determination.

Celebration Ideas

  • Host watch parties for key events
  • Organize interactive sport demonstrations
  • Share your favorite moments using #ItsYourVibe
  • Connect with local schools for educational programming

Your History is OUR History

As we celebrate Move United's 70th anniversary, we want to hear from YOU. Your organization owns part of this adaptive sports history, share your origin story with us! Who were your founders? What barriers did you break? How have you evolved? Share content, including photos and videos!

The pioneers in our movement created access where none existed. They didn't just open doors, they built the framework to hold them up. From the largest programs to the smallest member organization, this anniversary belongs to all of us. In the months to come, we will be highlighting our network on social. Please make sure we have your most current logo and your listing on our website is correct.

Timothy Brown

Marketing & Communications Specialist

A native of San Antonio, Texas, Tim discovered adaptive sports while rehabilitating at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland from wounds incurred in Afghanistan, when he participated in The Hartford Ski Spectacular in 2011. Shortly thereafter, he was introduced to the sport of handcycling, and a two-day ride from Houston to Austin firmly set the hook. Learn more about Timothy.
