Miss Texas' Teen, Natalie Poveda

The new year This month as Miss Texas’ Teen has been centered around establishing my community service platform pillars of student leadership and community outreach. I devoted time to teaching preschool students weekly, emphasizing the importance of love and helping others. Furthermore, I kept busy with preparation for the Leadership Initiative Conference, for which I have the honor of being a small group leader and Mays Business School recruiter. In addition to outside engagement, I have been rigorously studying for my multitude of college exams. Balancing the focus of scholarship and success with the title of the Teen is what is of utmost importance. A prime example includes a Tuesday this month in which I took two college exams and a trip to Dallas for recognition from Representative Giovanni. It has been a full four weeks with a blend of academics, community service, and strategic appearance planning for the future!
