The arrival of spring is always exciting for us at Texas College Bridge, as more and more students complete their courses and get college ready. This year is no exception, especially following the presentation of initial findings from the first state-wide, independent evaluation of our program.

In this month’s newsletter, we are providing information on how to participate in the next round of evaluation. Our long-term goal is a robust analysis of a substantial state-wide data set that can provide significant insights into best practices as well as track student success metrics from enrollment through completion – and we need your help to do this!

Program Evaluation: Your Participation Requested

Thanks to all who attended our webinar last month when we provided a brief overview of the recent independent evaluation of Texas College Bridge, and a special thank you to the 10 higher ed partners who participated in the first round of data analysis.

To build on these initial findings to help more at-risk students, we need to expand the data set over time and with more partnering IHEs.

For institutions interested in participating in future evaluation and data analysis, we are attaching links to the data template and data sharing agreement being used for evaluation. Your participation in the next phase of analysis is greatly appreciated!

IHE Leaders PLC and Q&A - April 6

To support our partners in higher education, we will be hosting a PLC session for IHE contacts in conjunction with Q&A regarding our extended evaluation on April 6 at 2:00 p.m.

The PLC is an ongoing focus for the higher ed community to exchange ideas and explore best practices for Texas College Bridge. We appreciate your participation and hope you will join us!

If you haven’t already done so, sign on to be a receiver of records with Greenlight Credentials. This is free and allows access to a portal showing all Certificates of Completion sent by students to your institution.

ARE YOU ADDING A MARKER TO STUDENT ACCOUNTS?

Many of you are already adding a college waiver code to your incoming student accounts. To help us further evaluate the effectiveness of our program, we request that all IHE partner please add a specific waiver code for Texas College Bridge students. By differentiating this code, you will be able to report comparative data following the first semester and help us establish an evidence base of program outcomes.

ARE YOU ACTIVELY REACHING OUT TO YOUR LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICT PARTNERS?

To help you spread the word to districts (and their students) about your institution’s partnership with Texas College Bridge, we’ve developed a Toolkit for Higher Ed Partners. The toolkit includes communication and graphic assets that you can customize for your institution, such as:

Texas College Bridge Summit:

Collaborating to Increase College Readiness

SAVE THE DATE — Join us on Monday, June 5 for the first Texas College Bridge statewide conference, hosted by Region 10 in Dallas, and open to administrators, instructors, counselors, technologists, and support staff from participating ISDs and partner colleges and universities.

This one-day event will feature Texas College Bridge success stories and implementation best practices, from effective program recruitment to using real-time data to increase program completion. Additionally, the convening will spotlight how secondary-postsecondary partnerships are improving educational equity and student outcomes. Professional development credit will be awarded to summit attendees.
