This Month At Mustang

🌿 Good News – We’re in Stage 1 of Drought!

We’ve officially moved from Stage 2 to Stage 1 of our Drought Contingency Plan! This means residents can now water their lawns two days per week instead of just one.

As we prepare for summer, we’re working on new resources to help residents make the most of their water use—shaped by the feedback we gathered in our recent drought awareness survey.

Frequently Asked Questions

We know leaks can be stressful, and we want to make sure you have the information you need to quickly identify and address any issues. Below are answers to some common questions about leaks and your relationship with Mustang SUD.

Is Mustang responsible

for finding leaks

on my property?

Water service lines are a shared responsibility. Our team maintains the water system up to your meter, but once water passes through the meter and enters your property, identifying and repairing leaks is the homeowner’s responsibility. If you suspect a leak, we recommend contacting a licensed plumber to assess and fix the issue.

How can

I tell if I have a hidden leak?

Some leaks aren’t obvious, but here are a few signs to watch for:

  • Unexplained high water bills
  • The sound of running water when no fixtures are on
  • Damp spots in your yard, driveway, or foundation

A simple way to check is to turn off all water inside and outside your home, then look at your water meter. If it’s still moving, you may have a leak

Will my water bill be adjusted if I have a leak?

We understand that unexpected leaks can be costly. While we don’t cover repairs, you may qualify for a leak adjustment credit if you provide proof of repair. Contact our customer service team for details on eligibility and how to apply.
