Amplify Austin is TODAY!

What is Amplify Austin?

This online giving day begins TODAY at 6 p.m. and will end Friday, March 2nd at 6 p.m.  That's right, you have just 24 hours for your dollars to make a BIG impact.  This year, funds raised through Amplify Austin are being used in our Food Pantry to increase our ability to feed neighbors in need.  Every donation makes an impact!

Need Help Making Your Online Donation?

If you'd like to come in person to give online, you may come to The Shops at The Caring Place at 2000 Railroad Avenue on March 2nd from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Our Community Engagement Manager will be in the store assisting customers with online donations.  As an added bonus, if you give in the store during those hours, you will receive a 10% off coupon for use in either of our thrift stores!

Wait, There's More!

St. David's Foundation has offered a $1M matching grant to be distributed among their nonprofit Grant Partners on Amplify Austin Day. St. David's Foundation's 2018 Grant Partners will receive funds on a pro-rated basis. Each nonprofit will receive matching funds based on their total funds raised on Amplify Austin Day. Last year, this match resulted in a 30% boost to the funds raised by Grant Partners on the Day.

As you can see, there's lots to be excited about today and we hope that you will consider making a donation during Amplify Austin!

Easter is April 1st:  Both of our thrift stores have unique gifts, vases, cards and Easter gifts or decor.   When you shop at either of our stores you are helping The Caring Place realize its mission of helping our neighbors in financial crisis.  Did you know that the sales from Second Helping and The Shops at The Caring Place MORE than cover the operating costs at The Caring Place?  This means when you make financial contributions, 100% of your donations directly impact the people in your community.

The Shops at The Caring Place
2000 Railroad Avenue | Monday-Saturday, 9am-4pm | Thursdays until 7pm

New Blog Entry:

We love sharing stories about Staff, Volunteers and anyone who is positively impacted by The Caring Place.  The goal?  For you to better understand why we are here, doing what we do.  Our latest entry was inspired by an anonymous letter we received by one of our Food Pantry Volunteers.  Read about how one volunteer's thank you note to our Executive Director, Ginna O'Connor, inspired a blog post about leadership and culture in this non-profit.

With Amplify Austin on our minds, we came up with a Marketing idea to utilize old frames at The Shops at The Caring Place.  Don't worry, we have plenty more wall art and frames that can be up-cycled for whatever event you might have coming up!

Are you at the end of this eNewsletter and remembered you still need to donate during Amplify Austin Day?  Here's a  link!
