MARCH AT THE KMA

Young Artists 2024

Through March 3, 2024

Don't miss the chance to see this annual exhibition of artwork by high school seniors, which closes on March 3. With the goal of providing hands-on learning experiences to aspiring artists, this unique initiative offers meaningful student participation in the exhibition planning process from beginning to end. Under the guidance of museum professionals, students take on the roles of artist, graphic designer, curator, exhibition designer, and installer as they work collaboratively with the KMA’s staff to mount this exhibition.

Daily Admission Tickets

A limited supply of special Young Artists 2024 t-shirts are available for purchase. Stop by the Museum before March 3 to pick one up!

UPCOMING AT THE KMA

Opening on March 17, 2024

There Is A Body: Legacy of the Ancestral Arts in the 21st Century

Guest curated by artist John Edmonds and organized by the KMA, the exhibition highlights an intergenerational group of contemporary artists from the Black diaspora—David O. Alekhuogie, Sanford Biggers, Lyle Ashton Harris, and Matthew Angelo Harrison— who are forging personal connections to traditional African art and interrogating its appropriation by the western art canon.

Stellar Reverberations: African Masks in Outer Space

Artist Damien Davis takes over The Pollack Family Learning Center with a site-specific installation. This family-friendly work explores the interplay between cultural heritage and the boundless cosmos using symbols and silhouettes. Davis’s tactile, kinetic artworks are featured alongside projects and activities that invite young visitors to reflect upon themselves, their roots, and imagined futures.
