Hello YPIE Scholars and Families!

We loved having YPIE Scholars join us at the College Zone and various trips over February break. Students visited Barnard College, NYU, Purchase College, Lehman College, and took trips with the Debate, Design, Film, and Science Research Majors.

YPIE has a searchable Student Opportunities Database you can use to find different opportunities to volunteer, learn, or expand your knowledge of different careers outside of school.

Where is the College Zone?

The YPIE College Zone is located at 92 Main Street, Yonkers, NY 10701.

How do I get there?

Click here to find public bus routes from each high school to the YPIE College Zone.

How do I enter?

Enter on Main Street between Chase Bank and The Pizza Place - look for the black awning that says "YPIE College Zone.” Select “YPIE” on the touchpad next to the door.

When do I attend?

At least once a week, Monday-Thursday from 3:30-5:30. Students are welcome to come right after school to work on homework and eat snacks until class begins at 3:30. We are open on Fridays by appointment for Student Advisory Board meetings, homework help, study groups, and Majors Lab (work time to prepare for Majors competitions).

What happens if I don’t show up? 

Parents/guardians will receive a text message by 4:00 if their student has not shown up on their scheduled days. If students wish to leave before 5:30, YPIE needs to talk to a parent/guardian on the phone to confirm.

What if I can’t attend on my scheduled day?

If a student is going to be absent, please have a parent/guardian call (914-377-4882 option 2) or email (programs@ypie.org) to let us know. If we only hear from a student that they are not attending, we will still text home.
