As we look forward to spring’s arrival, there is much to anticipate and enjoy at the BCMA! Two new exhibitions will soon open: Figures from the Fire: J. Pierpont Morgan’s Ancient Bronzes at the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art (March 2) and Human Nature: Environmental Studies at 50 (March 16). Please join us online this month for two virtual talks by leading South American artists Adrian Balseca (March 2) and Luis Camnitzer (March 7). Additionally, we hope you can enjoy a (rescheduled) tour of Andean Modernities / Contemporary Art: Cultural Transformation in Peru, Ecuador, and Bolivia (March 3) with its student curators, as well as the opening program for Figures from the Fire (March 30). Information on these and all other Museum events are available on our News and Events page. Of course, much is also happening behind the scenes! Included in this issue, learn about a recent BCMA loan to The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the recent acquisition of a photographic portrait by artist Rashid Johnson.

We look forward to seeing you at the Museum!
