Early Spring Energy

Hello March,

There’s always a noticeable shift this time of year—longer days, warmer afternoons, and that first hint of spring returning to Charlotte. It’s the season for opening windows, spending more time outside, and easing back into a more active rhythm around the city.

I'm sharing a few of my favorite local spots, what’s in season, and a few simple things to think about at home this month.

Neighborhood Spotlight 🔦 Plaza Midwood

Eclectic, walkable, and full of personality, Plaza Midwood is one of Charlotte’s most vibrant neighborhoods—known for its mix of historic homes, local businesses, and a strong sense of community.

Local Favorites

  • Supperland – A go-to for a more elevated night out
  • Common Market – Casual, local, and always a staple
  • Midwood Smokehouse – A Charlotte classic
  • Nearby greenways and neighborhood streets for easy afternoon walks

In Season This Month 🍽️

We’re starting to see the first signs of spring at local markets:

  • Asparagus
  • Radishes
  • Spring greens
  • Strawberries (toward the end of the month)

Simple, fresh meals start to feel a little lighter this time of year—think salads, roasted vegetables, and easy outdoor dinners.

March Home Notes 🗒️

A great time to start transitioning your home into spring:

  • Begin a light spring clean (one space at a time keeps it manageable)
  • Check gutters and downspouts after winter
  • Start thinking through outdoor spaces—patios, porches, and landscaping
  • Make a list of any small repairs to tackle before summer

Things To Do in Charlotte 📆

Charlotte really starts to come alive again this month:

  • St. Patrick’s Day celebrations and events around the city
  • Farmers markets beginning to reopen for the season
  • Patio dining returns (on the good weather days)
  • Weekend walks along the Rail Trail or your favorite neighborhood streets

Spring is right around the corner, and it’s one of the best times of year to enjoy everything Charlotte has to offer.

Cheers,

Harper Fox
