March Is National Social Work Month

The entire month of March is Social Work Month. National School Social Work Week is March 5-11. Social Workday is March 21, 2023

Our School Social Workers work without ceasing to advocate for scholars and their families to encourage self-awareness, personal growth and empowerment. The holistic approach to services focuses on the development of the whole student, global citizenship and positive contributions to society.

Just In Case Closet

We would like to extend a special 'Thank You' to Lowcountry Orphan Relief. They set up two 'Just in Case Closets,' one on the Hardeeville Campus and another on the Ridgeland Campus. The purpose of the closet is to provide necessities for kids that need them. Shirts, pants, undergarments, and toiletries are among the items donated. The JCSD Social Worker Team and school principals will have access to the closets and will guide the resources to those that need them. The closet's inventory will be replenished by the lowcountryorphanrellief.org team and their generous donors. Thank you to Lynn Young, Founder, her team, Bridgett Kolpien, Allie Witmer, Mayor Harry Williams, and the JCSD Special Services Team for setting up the Just in Case Closets.

PATEL's STEAM

This spring, the Patel Foundation of the Lowcountry is partnering with Jasper County School District to provide homework assistance. The main area of focus will be science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM). Initially, Patel's STEAM will be offered to K-2^nd grade students. We will announce when registration begins.

The Patel Foundation of the Lowcountry is a non-profit organization based in Jasper County. It provides resources to support the well-being of the lives of children and families. We are thankful for the Patel Foundation's founder, Rick Patel's enthusiastic support for the children of Jasper County.
