Message from the President

Dear MAAEYC Members,

As we welcome March, we are excited about all that’s happening in early childhood education! This month brings opportunities to connect, learn, and celebrate the power of literacy and advocacy in our field.

Exciting News – NAEYC/CARES New Membership Model!

NAEYC has introduced a new, more accessible membership model through CARES (Community, Accessibility, Resources, Engagement, and Support). This means expanded opportunities for educators to engage with valuable resources, professional development, and advocacy efforts. If you haven’t explored the new membership structure yet, now is the perfect time to join or renew!

Read Across America – Celebrating Literacy!

March is all about fostering a love of reading! Read Across America is a wonderful opportunity to promote literacy and create meaningful reading experiences for young learners. Whether it’s through guest readers, special story times, or book-themed activities, we encourage you to celebrate the joy of reading in your classrooms and communities.

MAAEYC Annual Conference – Coming Soon!

We’re gearing up for our upcoming MAAEYC conference, where educators will come together for inspiring sessions, networking, and professional development. Stay tuned for details on speakers, workshops, and registration—this is an event you won’t want to miss!

March is a time of renewal, growth, and advocacy for our field. Thank you for all that you do to support children, families, and the early childhood community. We look forward to seeing you at our events and continuing to work together to make a lasting impact.

With appreciation,

Cheryl Hovey

MAAEYC Represents at NAEYC Public Policy Forum!

We are proud to share that our Public Policy Chair MAAEYC Vice President AmyBeth Smith recently attended the NAEYC Public Policy Forum in Washington, D.C., representing MAAEYC and advocating for policies that support young children, families, and early childhood educators. This event brought together leaders from across the country to engage in critical discussions on early childhood policy, funding, and legislative priorities.

By participating in this forum, MAAEYC continues to strengthen our voice at both the state and national levels, ensuring that early childhood education remains a priority. Stay tuned for updates on how these policy efforts will impact our work and how you can get involved!
