This month, we are spotlighting Christine Winicki, who is a member of our Cohen Clinic's Advisory Panel and recently sworn in as the panel's secretary.
Tell us a little about yourself. What should the military community know about you?
I am the daughter of an U.S. Air Force missile officer, the spouse of a retired U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) logistics officer, the mom of four amazing young men and I work as a USMC Deployment Readiness Coordinator (DRC) for three logistics units aboard Camp Pendleton. My job as a DRC allows me to connect military members, spouses, children and parents to the joys and challenges of military life.
Why did you join the Cohen Clinic at VVSD's Clinic Advisory Panel (CAP)?
Military life requires so many skills: flexibility, resilience, problem solving and lots of patience. Supporting the Cohen Clinic at VVSD as a CAP member allows me to have insight about Cohen Clinic programs, as well as to help the clinicians and other staff members to focus on programs and outreach.
What do you like most about the Cohen Clinic at VVSD?
The Cohen Clinic at VVSD is incredibly welcoming to all clients. The open door policy for supporting our service members and families is essential for building strong relationships and trust within the military community.
