PreK and K has been enjoying yoga with Ms. Mindy and learning about Jewish concepts like tzedekah and Tza'ar Ba'alei Chayim (the caring of animals). In this last month, we have learned about the importance of forgiveness, kindness, and working together.

This month, the first grade Hebrewsaurs enjoyed learning more Hebrew letters, practicing mindfulness in yoga, planning mitzvahs, the concepts of faith, trust, and forgiveness in bible stories, and singing prayers in our services.

The year is progressing rapidly, the 2nd and 3rd grade students are having so much fun continuing on learning family relationships. They are so enthusiastic.
As you know, Sunday 2/24 was my last day teaching Sunday school, it has been an honor and privilege to teach your children- Mrs. Risa

Fourth grade boys are speeding along. We've started studying prophets, and we are hard at work on a children's book of Bible people. The boys are taking great pride in how their Hebrew is moving along. We enjoyed yoga with Ms. Mindy and are looking forward to starting our lessons on Purim and Pesach.

Holocaust studies & Washington D.C.Trip
As our 8th graders completed Holocaust studies with Amy Rotker, much of them went on a field trip to Washington, DC over President's Day weekend.  The students enjoyed Shabbat with the G.W. University Hillel where they learn about the role of Hillel. The 2 days trip culminated in the visit to the U.S. Holocaust Museum, where the group spent the day absorbing the horrors of the Holocaust.
The amazing young women that attended had a great time together, and were grateful for the opportunity to learn more about that part their Jewish history.
We had a spectacular brunch for our parents on February 24th. The food was a amazing, and the company was even better.
We are so thankful for one of our newest Shalom School parents, Chef Jeffery Quasha (and wife Laura, sons Joshua and Austin), who prepared a spread to rival any Savannah Sunday brunch hot spot.
Thank you also to Josh Carter and Rene Rubnitz for all their work in putting that event together.
