Our weekly Face-to Face meetings and activities into April are suspended. Weekly meetings will be held online. Weekly updates will be sent  via  E-Newsletters and by email as necessary. Each week in the newsletter we will feature a program so please take the time to learn more and stay engaged.

Here is a recap of the online meeting from this past Tuesday.

13 members were able to join our meeting on Tuesday. Thank you Harris for setting it up. The meeting was led by Secretary Kim Berghs.
  • Those on the meeting received highlights from the recent board meeting.
  • Service related-the 22nd is Earth Day and throughout the week people in the community are asked to spot check their neighborhoods for trash while out on a walk or consider planting a tree or bush at home. Children's Network is formulating a plan to accept fleece blankets like we have made in the past. This is something you can do at home, stay tuned for details.
  • Roll call-we went down the member roster and members on the call volunteered to call a few members and check in on them. Thanks so much for stepping up to do this. As a result there are only a couple people we hope to hear on by next week.
  • Mary from United Way was able to be on the call and is available to help answer questions about the stimulus checks, and just about everything tax related, just give her a call.
  • A reminder about annual elections was mentioned. Your nomination committee has prepared a slate of officers and directors for 2020-2011. Last chance to nominate someone is April 30th. We have not filled the president-elect position as of yet.  You'll have a year to train under Cathy Smith. Classes are available online and your past-presidents are always willing to help. Are you ready to lead?
  • See below for a last minute "push" for March of Dimes, now a virtual walk this Saturday.
  • We spent the remainder of the time chatting with each other. Erin recommended we check out a web series "Some Good News" created and hosted by actor and filmmaker John Krasinski. You can Check it out on YouTube. It is a news show dedicated entirely to good news.
Additional announcements and reminders:
  • The Kiwanis International Convention committee announced that ICON will be cancelled this year for the safety consideration of all attendees.
  • It's Child Abuse Prevention Month and time to GO BLUE! Consider painting one fingernail blue to raise awareness! Take a photo and send it to Erin or Lindsey by text or email. Let's show our support! If you see it!
Our work as Kiwanians is valuable to our community and we will take extra proactive measures to ensure the safety of everyone yet help meet the needs of our community. Stay home and help flatten curve, practice self help, use this time to learn new things.  If you need something please call on each other.

For those that want to join the online meetings:
Zoom is a reputable and safe online program. It is endorsed by businesses and organizations such as Kiwanis International. You can use your computer, tablet, or mobile device.
