                                        Announcements/Reminders

DINING BOOKS ARE IN- It's showtime! Atlas's, BUG, SLP's, and service projects--oh my. Let's get selling. If you are contacting an organization about selling the dining books add them to the list, even if they decline so we know who we have contacted and who is interested.

The following email went out to all club members on 3/15/19
Sorry guys, this email is intended for the women members of our club for a fun "girls night out"

Bling & Bags Bingo, a fundraising event for Children's Advocacy Center is Wednesday April 3rd from 5:30pm-8:30pm at the Crowne Plaza.

Read the details below and if you are interested in attending we need your name before or at the club meeting Tuesday March 19th. If more than 10 are interested we'll have to earnestly find a way to trim our list to 10. As of this newsletter 4 have signed up.

The agency could use a couple more event volunteers but you would not be factored in the list of 10 or sitting at our table, you'll be volunteering and enjoying the event as much as everyone else though. Must have outgoing personality and like to check people in, help sell raffle tickets, etc. Let me know if you are interested and I'll see if they have filled the slots yet.

Todd Adams has graciously sponsored a table for 10 members to attend. Thank you Todd. Our club is also a gold level sponsor ($1,000) for this event.

The audience for this event will consist of:
* 300 professional and executive-level women from Lee County
* Average age of 35-50
* Household decision makers and influencers.

Event details: Buffet dinner * Chinese Auction Baskets * Silent Auction * Door Prize * 16 Bingo Cards to Win Fine Jewelry & Designer Bags.

                          Today's Program:  March of Dimes

Our presenter today was Trent Howe from the local March of Dimes office. The agency has recently undergone a rebranding and has a new mission statement. March of Dimes is also a charity endorsed by Kiwanis International .  Vital services for moms and babies, especially babies born sick or too soon, are at risk .About half a million babies are born premature or with birth defects in the U.S. each year.  The preterm birth rate is 10.2% for Florida.  Premature birth and its complications are the largest contributors to infant death in the U.S., and a major cause of long-term health problems in children who survive.  March of Dimes is working to expand solutions to help all mothers and babies have healthy, full-term births. The annual march for Southwest Florida is Saturday, April 27th at Centennial Park. Registration is at 8:00am and the event begins at 9:00am. When you March for Babies you make a statement you want to live in a world in which healthy moms and strong babies are a priority. See information how to sign up elsewhere in this newsletter. See Lindsey for more information. Let's March for Babies!!

                             Florida's First Lady Project--Diaper Drive

We are collecting diapers during the months of March and April.

For March please give them to Ada as we'll be donating them to St. Vincent De Paul. They will go to families in Page Park and Pine Manor. We will update you for April.

At the end of April we'll send our total diaper count to the Florida office.

You can also bring in items associated with diapers such as wipes. If you don't want to shop a club member will be happy to do that.
