DIRECTOR'S MESSAGE

Registration and interviews are completed and we have begun our classes for the 2020 Teen March of the Living. We are delighted we were able to accommodate everyone who was on our wait list. This year, under the leadership of our Assistant Director, Amy Wildstein, we have 3 full buses and as always, a fantastic staff which this year includes two teen alumni, Chaim Seligman (06), joining us from Israel and Lauren Gutierrez (16). We welcome back are incredible survivors, Adele Besserman, Celia Kener and Irene Zisblatt.

Our 2020 Adult March of the Living is just finishing up recruitment, so if anyone out there is still interested, time is of the essence to contact Rochelle.

Please don't miss out on our January Alumni get together in conjunction with the Posnack JCC's Matisyahu Concert on Thursday, January 16th . Many of us remember watching the video in our class and singing "One Day" at the Main Event at Latrun. A great way to enjoy a wonderful evening, seeing old friends and listening to a fabulous performer. We will have a special reserved section and a light supper prior to the concert. See the information below to reserve your tickets today.

We we all very saddened to learn of the passing of Lili Binstock , a survivor who accompanied us on the 2000 March of the Living and also the grandmother of Dana Apteker Zeig (06). Our deepest condolences to her entire family. Lili was an amazing, "feisty" woman who came with us only 6 weeks after open heart surgery. She shared with us her witnessing the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising and her survival from Auschwitz/Birkenau and Majdanek. She will be sorely missed.

We are excited to share in the upcoming " special" birthday of Irene Zisblatt , a survivor who will be accompanying us for her 19th time. See the information below and be sure to join us in celebrating. Those of you unable to attend - feel free to send me some thoughts or messages which I will compile and bring with me. Irene has touched the lives of so many individuals and their families. Mazel tov to her and your family.

Special thank you to those Alumni and families who have stepped up and helped in our campaign to sustain the March to enable everyone who is qualified to participate to be able to go. One way everyone can help is to run a Facebook birthday fundraiser. Let me know if you would like to help in any number of ways.

We are also updating our records, so if you know someone who is not getting our Alumni newsletters, let me know. We are also looking for current mailing addresses so that we can let you know when a reunion is coming your way. Please send them to me at [email protected]

If you haven't liked our March of the Living - Broward Alumni Facebook page, please do so.

Remember to stay in touch, send us news, like our Facebook page, join us at the Reunions.

May the lights of Chanukah shine brightly and may we rededicate ourselves to the values we all hold dear. Best wishes to you and your families for health and happiness and peace.

Described by the Miami New Times as "tremendous, zen-like, and enlightening," Matisyahu will give fans stripped back versions of his chart-topping songs, deep catalogue, and songs from his latest release Undercurrent. Presented in its most raw form, Matisyahu will highlight his repertoire allowing his voice and beat-boxing paired with intensive guitar arrangements to expand through lyrical intensity and musical improvisation. The show will feature original Live at Stubbs guitarist Aaron Dugan, and Miami-native guitarist Adam Weinberg.
