Last night, before our Regular Council Meeting, we had the honor of acknowledging a few EXTRA-ORDINARY people.
What a better way to kick off the night than to recognize the first female strong mayor for Miami-Dade County, Palmetto Bay Resident and Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava on the first day of Women’s History Month for her excellent service to this community. She’s making history!
Up next, we recognized Joe Carrillo for his 16 years of service to Palmetto Bay with the Bringing Them Home Project. He founded this non-profit group, whose mission is to find missing children specifically runaways and bring them home to the safety of their families at no cost to the family. Private Investigator Carrillo has reunited more than 500 kids with their families and provided them with the services they need. He is truly making Palmetto Bay Proud!
David Zisman was recognized with a proclamation on his birthday, for serving as Chair of our Charter Revision Commission for 2019-2020 and his significant contributions! Mr. Zisman has been part of every Charter Revision Commission. It was mentioned that Mr. Zisman has attended more than 30 meetings as part of the committees. Thank you for celebrating your birthday with us.
We also recognized and thanked the four other members of the Charter Review Commission, Mitchell Mandler, Esq., Marc Levy, Tim Schaffer and Shelley Stanczyk for their endless dedication and commitment to reviewing and improving our Village Charter. We are so grateful and proud to have had the opportunity to work with each and everyone of you. Thank you for all you do for our Village.
Congratulations to all!
