REMINDER - NO MEETING IN MARCH!

OUR NEXT MEETING WILL BE THURSDAY, APRIL 3, 7PM

Orchid Tip of the Month

Hey Catasetum Growers,

It's time to pot-up or repot your plants!

Check your plants now. If you see a small green growth starting, that means it's GO time to repot. Catasetums prefer a moisture retentive mix, so I suggest either packed sphagnum moss or fine bark, or consider the 'lasagna' method of layering the two mediums.

I've already repotted mine. In a week or two I will start regular fertilization. Keep an eye on your plants. If they are drying out too quickly over the summer, you can set them in saucers and water them from the bottom. Catasetums are one of the very few orchids that really love this watering method.

That's your growing tip for today. Remember, no meeting this month, See you in April!
