Dear Siblings in Christ:

We are excited to share that members of the Metropolitan New York Synod will be marching in the NYC Pride Parade on Sunday, June 28, 2026 — and we hope you and members of your congregation will join us!

The Rev. Hayley Paulson Moe and the Manhattan Ministerium have graciously organized our participation this year. We have room for up to 100 people to march together as a witness to the full, vibrant presence of Lutherans throughout New York City — and to the queer-affirming welcome our church extends to all.

Marchers will be outfitted with "Queerly Beloved" T-shirts and beautiful posters — designed by Raquel Busa — celebrating the depth and breadth of gay, trans, and queer participation in our congregations.

We ask two things of you:

  1. Sign up yourself if you are able to march.
  2. Share this invitation with members of your congregation who you think would like to participate.

A few important things everyone should know before signing up:

The Pride Parade is a meaningful but significant commitment. Participants will gather at a set time and location in the early afternoon (logistics will be shared closer to the date), and the march itself takes well over an hour. Late arrivals will not be able to join the group once the parade is underway, and early departures are not possible except in the case of a true emergency.

Because our spots are limited to 100, we ask that people register only if they are confident they can fully commit to the day.

Ready to march? Sign up here — and share widely: NYC Pride Parade Sign-Up

We hope to see many of you marching together as the beloved, inclusive community we are.

In faith and pride,
