I just wanted to send out the latest roster of the Marching 100 Alumni Band for Homecoming 2011!
We are well over 250, and are expecting to see even more of you at homecoming this year!
A few quick notes before you start poring through the list to see your name or someone else's:
* This list is not official, just the list of people who filled out the survey. If you do so by the end of June, you'll be able to get music when it's sent in July.
* This is a cumulative list that includes marching in the parade, pre-game show, and stands.
* You don't have to perform in all 3 if you don't want to.
* Dues are necessary if we are to have a successful weekend!
* There are 13 more days for you to pay your dues at the discounted rate of $75. Not sure if you paid? Check the roster and drop down to the 2011-2012 year.
Please do me a favor and help get the word out to everyone by retweeting, sharing to your Facebook profiles, forwarding the emails, and CALLING those who are interested but haven't reached out, yet!

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE
Friday, October 7 10:10am - 12:30pm Homecoming Convocation 1:00pm - 5:00pm Registration at the Patch (Blue Room) 4:00pm - 5:00pm Homecoming Meeting 7:30pm - 9:30pm Homecoming Gala ("Marching 100" is being honored) 10:00pm - 11:30pm Field and Music rehearsal (mandatory) Saturday, October 8 7:30am - 9:00am Homecoming Parade 10:00am - 12:00pm Registration 12:00pm - 1:00pm Alumni Band rehearsal (walkthrough) 1:30pm - Leave the Blue Room for Bragg Stadium 2:00pm - Arrive and enter Bragg Stadium (everyone MUST have a valide ticket that is issued by the Marching 100 Alumni Band Association if you want walk in with us through the SE gate!) We are tentatively sitting in Section J, where the visiting band sits. 2:30pm Pre-game show by the "Marching 100" Alumni Band 2:40pm Pre-game show by the "Marching 100" Band (alumni band members are welcome to join the "100", if they'd like) 3:00pm - Homecoming Game Starts (FAMU vs. howard) 4:15pm - Halftime show by the "Marching 100" and alumni band NOTE: The game time has not been set for homecoming yet, but our departure time from the Blue Room will be 90 minutes before kickoff, so that we can arrive on time and be in place. |

 Here's the list of music that the alumni band will be playing at this year's homecoming, so when you are practicing/rehearsing, please focus on the following tunes: Warmup Sequence: Brasswind Warmup, Eb Warmup, Blessed Are They, Elsa's Procession To The Cathedral In Storm and Sunshine (parade/game) Purple Carnival (game) Back Stabbers (parade) Oh Happy Day (parade) Hot Time (game) Say La La (game) Sweet Love (game) Other songs we will play will be forwarded to you hopefully by the Annual Meeting on July 16. I've had numerous offers from FAMU arrangers to write for us, and we will try to accommodate our arrangers as much as possible. There will be a Showplanning/Music committee conference call next Thursday, so if you're interested in being on the call, drop me a line. If you bring your ideas and song lists with you, it should take no more than an hour! |
