Cherished Community,

As we close out Women’s History Month — a time to celebrate the achievements, strength, and unstoppable impact of women across the globe – we are proud to uplift and support powerhouse women who are leading transformative change in the philanthropic, nonprofit, and social impact sectors. For centuries, women have shaped the course of history — not always from podiums or pedestals, but through the steady force of resilience, courage, and brilliance. From the grassroots power of community organizers like Dolores Huerta to the revolutionary pen of Maya Angelou, women have sparked movements, challenged systems, nurtured families, birthed innovation, and redefined what’s possible. Their stories — whether whispered in ancestral memory or written into history books — are the foundation of the world we now inhabit.

This month, we spotlight dynamic women leaders whose brilliance and boldness continue to shape a more just and thriving world. We are honored to be a part of these women's journeys and to celebrate their leadership, brilliance, and legacy — not just this month, but always.

To all women doing the work: we see you, we celebrate you, and we walk with you!

In solidarity,

Jeannine, Connie & Team

New Leadership Announcement

Krista Colón Appointed as the New Executive Director of California Partnership to End Domestic Violence

The California Partnership to End Domestic Violence (the Partnership), a statewide network creating culture and policy change to prevent and end domestic violence, is thrilled to announce the appointment of Krista Colón as its new Executive Director effective March 31, 2025! Krista has over 15 years of experience in the domestic violence field at both the state and national levels, including 12 years at the Partnership. Previously serving on the Partnership’s Leadership Team as Senior Director of Public Policy & Communication Strategies, Krista has successfully advocated for over $230 million in new funding for survivor services and prevention and has also secured the passage of legislation to address the comprehensive needs of survivors.

Walker & Associates Consulting had the immense pleasure of partnering with the board, search committee, and staff in leading a national leadership search that spanned several months and involved the careful evaluation of over 700 impressive applicants. Krista’s experience spanning policy advocacy, coalition-building, and strategic communications, makes her uniquely positioned to take the Partnership’s work across Setting Strong Policy, Communicating Priorities, Building Capacity, and Strengthening Prevention Initiatives to new heights. We can’t wait to see what’s to come for Krista, the Partnership, and the over 2,000 advocates, organizations, and allied groups throughout the state that the Partnership represents and supports!
