Kentucky Partnership for Families and Children, Inc.’s 2019 Stone Catcher Masquerade Ball was a fun, exciting night for all those that attended!

Alicia Johnson, Special Assistant to the First Lady Glenna Bevins, was the keynote speaker and shared a powerful story about the stone catchers in her life including a friend in school, her husband and her son!
What is a Stone Catcher? A Stone Catcher is a person who protects those who are vulnerable; a person who stands up for the right thing. Besides having music and awards, the event included a balloon artist, a scavenger hunt, a children’s table with games, and a Silent Auction!

KPFC received sixteen nominations for Stone Catchers! It was amazing to see all these real-life stone catchers in one place and to feel the compassion and energy they bring to their work! In alphabetical order, KPFC recognized all these nominees for being stone catchers:

Out of these sixteen amazing and deserving nominees, one was selected as the 2019 Stone Catcher of the Year: Natasha Kloeker! Ms. Kloeker “truly cares about the well-being of the at-risk children that she serves and tries to help them fulfill their potential.” Ms. Kloeker provided an opportunity for youth in the community to change their negative attitudes about law enforcement officers by arranging a meeting where they could talk and learn from each other. Another at-risk youth was suffering after being repeatedly bullied at her school which led the youth to feeling depressed (even suicidal) and in using alcohol as a mechanism for dealing with the pain. Ms. Kloeker helped the parents identify, and ensured the parents could afford, an alternative learning environment. “This type of compassion and zealous advocacy for children is unique and extraordinary, and worthy of recognition!”
On behalf of the children and families we serve, KPFC sends out a big THANK YOU to all of these Stone Catchers! And, CONGRATULATIONS to Natasha Kloeker!
