It's Almost Time to Erase the Trace!

Join us for the 3rd Annual Erase the Trace, a one-day cycling benefit for glioblastoma research on Saturday, May 13, 2023. This fully supported ride takes place on a portion of the historic Natchez Trace Parkway, starting and finishing at The Loveless Cafe, with your choice of 10-, 30-, or 70-mile ride options, or join us virtually.

"In 2022, I biked all 444 miles of the Natchez Trace Parkway, but not everyone can commit to a ride this length in order to be a part of the solution. The 3rd Annual Erase The Trace ride has been reimagined as a one-day cycling event, making it easier than ever to participate and honor someone you know fighting for their life. I couldn’t be more excited and ask that you join me to celebrate life and offer hope."

Sparky's Ice Spectacular Highlights

Last year, CARES partnered with Snoopy’s Home Ice in Santa Rosa, California, to hold Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer™: Celebrating the 100th Birthday of Charles M. Schulz. Our three-day event included a Frozen 5k, a sell-out celebration ice show called Sparky’s Ice Spectacular, and charity hockey games.

We're proud to have raised over $190,000 for cancer research, with 50% of the net proceeds supporting colorectal cancer research at Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital in honor of Charles M. Schulz!

Get Screened: Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month

"Colon cancer screening is an important public health issue. To date, colon cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in men and women combined. Through colonoscopy screenings, colon cancer can be prevented in many cases through the removal of polyps which occur in 40% of the US population. No other cancer screening test prevents cancer like colonoscopy screening. The age to start screening has been reduced to 45, as we are seeing younger people develop colon cancer more than ever before."

Sk8ing with the Solar Bears

On March 12th, the Florida skating community came together for Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer presented by the Orlando Solar Bears. It was an incredible night of honoring those we know and love who've been impacted by cancer. CARES Founder Scott Hamilton emceed our celebration ice show featuring over 130 skaters, and we were joined by Olympian and US National Champion Mariah Bell!

Over $32,000 was raised to support cancer research at AdventHealth Cancer Institute and nationally through the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation.
