NEW IBERIA, La. -- The Bayou Mardi Gras Association held its official 'Bead-Cutting' ceremony on Monday, Jan. 9, 2017 at Musson Patout Automotive Group in New Iberia.

Musson Patout Automotive Group is the parade's first corporate sponsor. In addition to helping underwrite parade expenses and being the parade namesake, Musson Patout will be the official truck and driver provider for all of the parade floats in this year's parade.

"Musson Patout's partnership with the Bayou Mardi Gras Association helped make this parade possible,"  said Pat Norris, association president. "Their commitment to support our efforts and be an integral part of organizing this first parade, is one of the main reasons we are able to bring a Mardi Gras parade back to New Iberia."

"The Musson Patout family has always been deeply rooted in Iberia Parish and we wanted the community to have its Mardi Gras Parade back in Downtown New Iberia," said a Musson Patout representative. "We believe the parade is a tradition that helps define this community, promotes our area and brings great joy to our neighbors."

The parade is set to roll down Main Street New Iberia at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10, 2017.

About The Bayou Mardi Gras Association:
The Bayou Mardi Gras Association is a non-profit organization that was created by four local community-minded businessmen. Their combined effort resulted in bringing Mardi Gras krewes, businesses, community organizations and friends together in order to re-establish a Mardi Gras Parade in New Iberia. Association founders Patrick Norris, Beau Beaullieu, Mike Wattigny and Wess Robison founded the organization in November 2016 as a catalyst to promote community engagement, culture and fun in Iberia Parish during the Mardi Gras season.
