Vestry Retreat Recap

You can be assured the parish is in good hands with your Vestry. The outgoing, continuing and new members retreated to Mission San Luis Rey last weekend to ensure continuity and listen to where God’s calling us. Although we have some refining to do, there was a lot of energy around moving from a church who says we are “open and welcoming,” to being a church who is actively “affirming and accepting” of everyone we encounter. We are also determined to do a better job of ensuring St. Andrew’s is NOT the best kept secret in town!

Ash Wednesday

Ash-n-Dash, 5:30pm

We begin our Lenten journey, preparing for Easter (April 9) with a litany of penitence and the imposing of ashes. If you're an early bird, join us at 7am in Shirley Teale Memorial Chapel. Noon and 7pm worship will be in the Nave. Ash-n-Dash, which is a great option for kids, will take place in the courtyard at 5:30pm, and include a few chants lead by Deacon Heather with drive-through ashes available until 6:30pm.

Youth Confirmation this Sunday

Confirmation classes for youth (in 7th grade or higher by Fall of ’23) and their parents begins this Sunday. Please contact Mother Brenda to learn more. Parents will meet in the Conference Room of the Parish Hall.

God willing and the people consenting, Heather Lawrence will be ordained to the Holy Order of Deacons on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at 11 am at St. Paul's Cathedral. The live stream will be available on Diocesan the YouTube Channel.
